Meha Jha Kasliwal

Jaipur, India

Meha believes kathak to be a poetry of mind and body, a rhythmic expression of her devotion and food for soul. It is not just a dance form for her, it’s her way of living life deeply immersed in her art.
She had her first encounter with kathak at a tender age of eight. She started her journey with Lucknow style and later mastered it with great dedication and poise. With a budding passion for this form, she continues her journey winning laurels and recognition for her art. As a disciple of renowned kathak exponent Guru Rani Khanam, Meha readily acknowledges the huge debt that she owes her guru.

She gracefully leaped from an acclaimed dancer to a powerhouse celebrating the heritage of kathak with her venture, Mudra Academy of Performing Arts, in Jaipur, Rajasthan. She is committed to impart quality training in kathak under the traditional Guru–Shishya Parampara. Mudra Academy is a registered society working extensively to promote art and culture. With a mission to continue this legacy of grace and storytelling via dance, Mudra hosts their dance festivals annually, bringing in the best of artists, thus becoming a melting pot of culture and traditions.
