Barkha Patel is an Indian classical Kathak dancer, performing artist, choreographer, and educator. Barkha has trained in Kathak with Guru Rachna Sarang. She completed her Masters in Performing Arts in India and continues to train with Pandit Divyang Vakil to deepen her understanding of Hindustani classical rhythm and music.

Barkha currently runs Barkha Dance Company and was invited to perform for Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out series and is a choreographic fellow at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Barkha teaches dance to help young and adult students become aware of their physical strength and grace but also learn the history and culture of Kathak dance. Currently, Barkha is working on her first, full length production called Mukta, A Woman Liberated.
